Compress Scanned PDF Files Online
Reduce scanned PDFs using adjustable DPI and JPEG quality. Processing stays local; the result is image-only and does not retain searchable text or forms.
Reduce a scanned PDF with care
This tool renders every page as a JPEG and builds a new image-only PDF. Start with 110 DPI and quality 65, then inspect small text, stamps and signatures at normal reading size before lowering either setting.
Worked example and checks
A scan-heavy PDF may shrink; a small text-based PDF may become larger. Compare the downloaded size with the original. If text must remain selectable or accessible, keep the original or use a PDF optimiser that preserves document structure.
What information is lost?
Searchable text, links, form fields, accessibility tags and digital signatures are not preserved. No particular output size is guaranteed. Never replace your only original with the compressed copy.
